INFLUENCIA REBELDE
REBEL INFLUENCE
HELLO TO ALL AND WELCOME TO ANOTHER BLOG! Today I will write
about rebellion as an important factor in my illustrations. From the first
illustration you could see, you can imagine, that without a doubt the PUNK
movement is the idea I have about rebellion. And if I speak of punk, a name
comes to mind and obviously has to be the great Vivienne Westwood. Because you
can not talk about the punk without thinking about her first. In the 1970s it was she who created
this way of dressing loaded, with chains, hooks and even bones, which exploded
in the minds and way of dress of many young people. She is a visionary woman
and at 77 she remains (for me) the coolest person on earth (in another blog I
will talk about people who are icons and influence my illustrations).
No doubt
the first thing you think about listening to the word punk is loud music and
crazy styles. But beyond the superficial, there is the independence and
counterculture that this movement represents, which carries a message of
freedom, either thought or physicality to people and that is where I find the most
inspiration. I take this idea of rebelliousness and plasm in illustrations that
although they have an aggressive posture they still continue to use clothes and
accessories that are delicate and collide with the rudeness of poses and
hairstyles. I did the illustrations while listening to "THE RAMONES"
and rock music of "THE DOORS". Being of great help because I like to
illustrate under a concept, or what transmits me a song and even a full album.
It is undeniable to say that they are not influenced by Vivienne and the
obvious illustration of Kate Moss, who to me is also a symbol of
rebelliousness, beauty and delicacy. I always imagine a moment or situation in
which each one of them (the illustrations), one could say that I try to imagine
who they could be and what they would dedicate their lives to.
