¡HOLA A TODOS!
Este blog será
sobre uno de mis grandes ídolos e inspiraciones, un hombre que para mí fue, es y
seguirá siendo un revolucionario que solo
puedo describir con una palabra G E N I O… Y que desapareció del mundo de una
forma inesperada y triste. Lee Alexander Mcqueen nació en Londres el 17 de
marzo de 1969 en un hogar humilde. Desde niño diseñaba la ropa a sus hermanas;
abandono la escuela a la edad de 16 años y se dedicó por completo al diseño de
moda (la mejor decisión de TODAS). Sus creaciones siempre levantaron sentimientos
entre las personas, dicho por el propio Mcqueen, siempre buscaba despertar
emociones, ya fuera asombro, amor, odio y hasta repugnancia. Hay tantos
momentos memorables regalados por Alexander Mcqueen que no podría elegir una
sola colección o un solo traje, porque en definitiva todos son obras de arte.
Su colección Fall
Winter de 2009 es sin duda una de mis mayores fuentes de inspiración gracias a
ese mundo gótico y bizarro que quiso contar a través de esos enormes vestidos,
abrigos, botas y labios exagerados. Como dije antes no puedo nombrar una sola colección
o prenda, así que les nombrare algunos de mis favoritos, que son gran fuente de
inspiración para mí. “Dante” de 1996, "JOAN" de 1997, “Golden
shower” de 1998, “No. 13” de 1999, en la que una de mis modelos favoritas SHALOM HARLOW sirvió de lienzo para uno
de los momentos más icónicos sobre una pasarela, en el que dos pistolas de
pintura, tiñeron de color negro y verde un vestido totalmente blanco; además de
la participación de una modelo sin piernas y con prótesis hachas con madera de
olmo, “voss” de 2001, spring summer de 2007, “la dame bleue” de 2008
y sin duda su última y una de las más
memorables de su vida PLATO’S ATLANTIS de 2010, una colección inspirada en el
calentamiento global que mostraba, como la destrucción del mundo llevo a los
seres humanos a mutar; transformando a las modelos es seres acuáticos, una colección
futuristas con telas hechas con tecnología de punta, zapatos que parecían imposibles
de llevar y que cerro con el estreno a nivel mundial de la canción “Bad romance”
en la cual para la creación del video musical Mcqueen vistió a su amiga Lady
Gaga.
En este blog
quise hablar sobre él y los grandes momentos
que regalo al mundo de la moda, porque al momento de ilustrar puedo crear una
historia en mi cabeza en base a lo que él
quiso contar en cada uno de sus shows llenos de teatralidad, tecnología y
originalidad. Después de su trágico suicidio el 11 de febrero de 2010 su marca homónima
al quedar sin su creador y director creativo tuvo que elegir un nuevo director
y fue Sarah Burton elegida como
directora creativa de la marca, ella ha
creado cosas realmente hermosas y únicas. Pero sin duda ese factor sorpresa que
regalaba Alexander Mcqueen será único e irrepetible para mí.

This blog will be about one of my great idols and inspirations, a man that for me was, is and will continue to be a revolutionary that I can only describe with one word G E N I U S ... and that he disappeared from the world in an unexpected and sad way. Lee Alexander McQueen was born in London on March 17, 1969 in a humble home. As a child he designed the clothes of his sisters; He left school at age 16 and devoted himself completely to fashion design (the best decision of EVERYONE).His creations always aroused feelings among people, said by the own mcqueen himself, he always sought to awaken emotions, whether it was wonder, love, hatred or even disgust. There are so many memorable moments given away by Alexander mcqueen that I could not choose a single collection or a single suit, because they are all works of art.
His 2009 Fall Winter collection is undoubtedly one of my greatest sources of inspiration thanks to that Gothic and bizarre world that he wanted to count through those huge dresses, coats, boots and exaggerated lips. As I said before, I cannot name a single collection or garment, so I will name some of my favorites, which are a great source of inspiration for me. "Dante" from 1996, "JOAN" from 1997, "Golden shower" from 1998, "No. 13" from 1999, in which one of my favorite SHALOM HARLOW models served as canvas for one of the most iconic moments on a catwalk, in which two paint guns, dyed black and green a fully white dress; in addition to the participation of a model without legs and with prosthetic axes with elm wood, "Voss" 2001, spring summer 2007, "la Bledame" 2008 and without a doubt his last and one of the most memorable of his life "PLATO'S ATLANTIS" 2010, a collection inspired by the global warming which showed, as the destruction of the world led human beings to mutate; transforming the models in aquatic beings, a futuristic collection with fabrics made with state-of-the-art technology, shoes that seemed impossible to carry out and that closed with the worldwide premiere of the song "Bad Romance" in which for the creation of the music video Mcqueen visited his friend Lady Gaga.
